Jack and Jill Playgroup is a registered charity (No. 1026771). We rely on donations to be able to purchase new equipment and provide better facilities for our children. Because of this we are always looking for new ways to fundraise, and you can help by using one of the methods below.
Buy your goods on Amazon via our website.
By using the amazon associates section of our website, we can earn 5% on every product referred from our website (rather than 2.5% via easyfundraising). That's it, you DON'T need to regsiter, the purchase tracking will happen automatically. Please be aware that you need to go via J&J website for each individual item in order for Amazon to be able to track everything you purchase.

Obstacle Colour Rush
Staff took part in the Obstacle Colour Rush at Brighton Racecourse in May 2016. We raised £448 for J&J through the generous support of our friends, families and parents of children at Playgroup - past and present.
Quiz and Curry Night
The 2016 Quiz and Curry Night with the popular dessert auction took place on Friday 24 June 2016 at The Hassocks Hotel. We raised £1,107 which we hope will have a further £1,000 fundmatched by Barclays Bank.
Sussex Community Foundation
In December 2015 we were delighted to be successful with a Grant Application to the Sussex Community Foundation. We were awarded £613 through the Millicent Mather Fund which has been used to purchase some wonderful new equipment for the children - a selection of kitchen units including a microwave, fridge/freezer, oven, sink and washing machine for our Home Corner; 2 cement mixers for our outside mud/sand building site; a brick support rack and 4 multi-cultural dolls. The children are really enjoying using the new toys and the imaginative games, team work and role play that this equipment helps them develop is valuable. Thankyou to the Sussex Community Foundation for their support.
Sainsburys Active Kids
We had lots of Sainsburys Active Kids vouchers donated and purchased a basketball net, playfood and saucepans, lots of balls and boardgames. Thankyou to everyone who collected and donated their vouchers.
Barclays Bank - 2015
We have received £969 from Barclays Bank as part of their scheme to match funds raised at charity events. In this case, it was the Curry and Quiz (2015) night which staff member Helen Palmer, who also works for Barclays, organised and co-ordinated.
We also received £300 from Childhelp, Hassocks which has been used to purchase an outdoor sail for protection from the rain/sun and has purchased some large planting troughs, soil and plants which the children loved planting up and are having lots of discussions about how plants grow. We hope to harvest the tomatoes soon!
Hassocks Traders Association - 2014
Hassocks Traders donated £425.29 to our playgroup when the group disbanded earlier this year. Many thanks to all associated for this enormously generous donation.
Hassocks Amenity Association (Village Lottery) 2014 and Hassocks Parish Council
A wonderful grant of £200 from HAA meant we could purchase an enormous tribal "gathering drum" and with a further £118 from Hassocks Parish Council we also bought a much needed noticeboard for the front of the building, and a huge sail/canopy to protect the children from the rain or sun when they play outside. Many thanks to these organisations for their support - it is much appreciated.
£145 was raised through our Sports Day Event "Walk round the Field" and £47 was raised through strawberries and cream kindly donated by Henry Smith's family.
Curry and Quiz Night
The Curry and Quiz Night held at The Hassocks Hotel on 5 June 2015 was a huge success with a sum in the region of £1,000 being raised through ticket sales and the popular pudding auction. A big thank you to the management of Hassocks Hotel for their generosity hosting this event free of charge and providing food at a greatly reduced rate and for Joanne Greenhalgh at QD Stationary for selling tickets and organising the evening.
We were very sad to hear of the recent passing of the Hassocks Hotel Landlord - Richard Lambe - his family have been incredibly generous to us in nominating Jack and Jill as a beneficiary for donations made in his memory and we received cheques totalling £525 from Bowley Funeral Directors.
In May 2015, Paul McLean (husband of staff member Amanda) took part in The Tough Mudder Challenge and raised over £525 in sponsorship money which he has kindly donated to Jack and Jill Playgroup.
